The 'Battles Beyond the Boyne' exhibition, organised by Grand
Lodge at Schomberg House, Belfast has been a resounding success.
Several hundred visitors viewed the exhibition in June and
July, among them Lodges from different parts of Northern Ireland
as well as members of the public. Brethren and visitors from
Detriot, Western Australia, Scotland, Liverpool, Alabama and
London were among those who found the exhibition enthralling,
and highly positive feedback was received.
Talks were provided during special evenings by Jack Greenald,
Cecil Kilpatrick, David Scott, Bruce Kidd and Dr. David Hume,
while one significant aspect of the event was an open day
for community relations officers, which was well attended.
The exhibition will be provided in text and photograph form
and has already been booked by two local libraries, with hopes
that it will go on tour to many other venues across the Province.
Additional memorabilia including photographs and documents
were brought into the Schomberg House headquarters by those
prompted by the exhibition, and director of services David
Hume said that the event had been a resounding success.
"We would like to thank all those individuals and Lodges
who loaned items and helped make the event a great success.
The staff at Schomberg House also were magnificent in helping
put the exhibition together and dealing with its administration,
and we are delighted that so many people visited and found
it so worthwhile," he said.
