The revelations on last night's R.T.E.'s Prime Time Programme
should not have surprised anyone.
The Executive Officer of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland,
George Patton, said that Grand Lodge has repeatedly asserted
that opposition to peaceful parades has been orchestrated
by Sinn Fein. The evidence is quite clear and Prime Time simply
reinforced this.
What was important about last night's Programme is that the
great and the good who have tried to apportion blame for every
ill affecting this country on "Drumcree" and the
Orange Order will now have to join us in the real world. It
will be interesting to see if they are capable of grasping
reality.
Furthermore no one should be surprised by Sinn Feins
attempts to deflect the truth of the situation and to once
again try to blame everyone else. That has been their message
for the last twenty seven years. Whilst there will be those
who attempt to give them credence right thinking people will
yet again see them for what they really are.
