The Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland, in common with all other
citizens who desire to uphold the rule of law and the principles
of civil and religious liberty, deeply deplores the recent
upsurge in sectarian violence and strife in the Province,
manifested in the burning of Churches, Orange Halls, Schools,
and other property; in the eviction of families from their
homes, the boycotting of businesses and the obstruction of
people, Protestant and Roman Catholic, attending their places
of worship. In the name of the Truth and the Faith for which
we stand we utterly condemn all such actions. We are sure
that all right-thinking people will join us in such condemnation.
Nothing can justify activities which are in breach of the
Law of God and therefore contrary to the solemn obligations
to which we are all pledged.
