The Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland at its Half Yearly Meeting
in Belfast yesterday expressed its deep concern at the continuing
crisis facing the Agricultural Industry throughout the United
Kingdom and particularly in Northern Ireland.
Farming is the backbone of our economy and we urge Government
to do all in its power to protect the industry.
We also call on consumers to support our farmers by purchasing
local produce thus ensuring that in turn the supermarkets
etc. adequately stock such produce.
