The Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland will study with interest
the report prepared for the Northern Ireland Human Rights
Commission. Contrary to media reports the Institution has
not received a copy of the report.
This makes it difficult to comment authoritatively on it,
but we are intrigued by some comments which state that there
are no absolute rights. We are aware of this but pose the
question will the absolute veto over parades now be removed
from thsoe who threaten violence and disorder if a peaceful
parade proceeds?
The Orange Order has demonstrated toleration of others beliefs
and expressions we look forward to receiving toleration for
expressions of our faith and culture.
