County Armagh Grand Lodge meeting on 21st May expressed concern
at the recent decision of the European Court to award approx.
£40,000 to each of the families of I.R.A. terrorists
shot dead by the security forces at Loughgall.
The court did not find the British Government guilty of a
"shoot to kill" policy as I.R.A./Sinn Fein would
have people believe and as the relatives of the terrorists
wanted.
The reality is that the terrorists were caught in the act
of attempting to murder policemen.
It is incredible that the court bent over backwards to financially
reward those who brought this case.
This clearly sends out a mesage that appeasement of terrorism
is alive and well.
We should not be surprised by this given the record of the
British and Irish Governments in recent years.
We are left to wonder what the Spanish Government makes of
this case, given the vicious murder campaign conducted by
ETA terrorists in that country.
The European Union should bear in mind the fact that I.R.A./Sinn
Fein have assisted ETA, not least in introducing the car-bomb
to Spanish cities.
We pose the question whether Irish terrorism is "acceptable"
in the minds of some?
