Orangemen
in Belfast and throughout Northern Ireland have been urged
to turn out and support Saturday's "Love Ulster People's
Rally".
Belfast County Grand Master Dawson Bailie, who will be one
of the speakers on Saturday, said: "The rally is part
of a campaign for Unionist unity and designed to reinforce
our demand that the government recognises and respects the
democratic rights of the Unionist community and ends its concessions
to Irish nationalists and republicans.
"We need to register the strength of feeling within
our community peacefully but unmistakeably - and that's why
I'm calling on all Orangemen and their families to come along
and support us."
The rally will take place in Woodvale Park, following a parade
up the Shankill Road starting at 12noon. Victim support, community
and church groups are all expected to take part and additional
rallies are planned in various locations across Northern Ireland.
