The Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland met today to discuss parades
policy.
The meeting was held in Ballymacarrett Orange Hall and lasted
for four hours.
The previous year's policy was reviewed and reports delivered
on the ongoing Dunloy court Case which is the subject of a
House of Lords Appeal on the issue of non-disclosure of documents,
and other legal matters surrounding parades.
Grand Lodge noted with approval that a number of brethren
under threat of prosecution for taking part in parades last
year had received confirmation from the Public Prosecution
Service that no further action is being taken.
A mature and comprehensive debate on present and future policy
and tactics was held.
